A personal knowledge base built up from direct experience as a founder, Jason Calacanis's startup checklist from Launch, Y Combinator's Startup School curriculum, and key books on company building.

Everything here is opinionated and written to be useful in practice, not comprehensive in theory.

Where to start

If you're new here, the recommended reading order is:

  1. The Mom Test — Rob Fitzpatrick — Learn how to talk to customers without fooling yourself. The most important skill before you write a single line of code.
  2. Zero to One — Peter Thiel — The foundational framework for thinking about what makes a startup worth building: secrets, monopolies, and why competition is for losers.
  3. How to Get Startup Ideas — With the right mindset from the books above, this section puts it into practice: how to find problems worth solving.

After that, pick a section from the sidebar that matches where you are in the journey.
